Slovenian Entrepreneurs and Researchers in the United States
Mapping Slovenian Talent Across the US
From Silicon Valley startups to world-renowned universities, Slovenians are helping shape the future of technology, science, business, healthcare, and innovation across the United States. Yet despite their achievements and global impact, many of these individuals remain only loosely connected – both to one another and to Slovenia.
The ASEF initiative “Analysis of the Entrepreneurial Diaspora and the Development of a Supportive Ecosystem for Slovenian Entrepreneurs in the United States” was created to change that.
This project brings together Slovenian entrepreneurs, founders, researchers, professors, investors, and innovators who are active across major American innovation hubs such as San Francisco, Boston, New York, Chicago, Austin, and beyond. Through research, mapping, and community engagement, ASEF is building the first structured overview of Slovenian entrepreneurial and academic excellence in the United States.
More than a map, this is an evolving ecosystem – a space designed to strengthen connections, encourage collaboration, and open new opportunities between Slovenia and its global community.

Why This Project Matters
The project explores an important question:
How can Slovenian entrepreneurs and academics abroad stay connected, collaborate meaningfully, and contribute to Slovenia’s future, regardless of where they live?
To answer this, ASEF combines:
- research and interviews,
- analysis of international best practices,
- ecosystem mapping,
- diaspora engagement,
- and the development of digital networking opportunities.
The result is a growing platform that highlights where Slovenian talent is concentrated, which sectors it is shaping, and how these individuals can collaborate across borders.
